Shirvahna Gobin is a well-established administrative leader who engages as New York City Department of Correction (NYC DOC) deputy commissioner for strategic planning and management. Overseeing design and implementation of an Operational Management Unit, Shirvahna Gobin incorporated an innovative Restart concept and correctional best practices.

In her previous position as assistant commissioner for strategic planning with NYC DOC, Ms. Gobin directed planning of a 14-point Anti-Violence Reform Agenda and set in place a Project Management Office that focused agency resources and mission on this initiative. She directed research projects and conducted a pioneering organizational health survey that focused on assessing departmental performance.

She maintains membership in a number of organizations in her field, including the International Correctional Professional Association and the American Correctional Association. Certified in National Incident Management Systems, she has completed Six Sigma Green Belt training.

In her free time, Shirvahna Gobin enjoys outdoor activities such as running and rock climbing.
